NAPA, box in the box as they say, BE

New season always meant new décor for this client’s displays. After we wrapped the design and build of six boutiques for their System shops, the client asked us to design an inexpensive pop-up showroom. Given that this pop-up became permanent, we think they were pleased. Such was its blank canvas-esque quality, it took on the role of accommodating and showcasing new collections as they rolled out. The clothing racks, covered by a curvy, shell-like canopy in the shape of a wave juxtapose spot lit white boxes, to bring life and shape to this commercial space.

Windowless, with bare brick walls that were too damaged by ducting and pipework for us to feature the materials. Creating a strong identity for the various display areas within the confines of a brief that called for minimal changes was a challenge. The solution was black and white. No really, it was matte black paint with the sharp contrast of white on the display areas. Clever lighting further emphasised the insignificance of the surrounding space.
